The really cool heavy original band I sang with for years, American Trash - the band whose 2 albums sound like vintage Guns N Roses and Aerosmith, is getting together to play a benefit concert at the legendary Toad's Place in New Haven. The benefit is for the families of firefighters who are battling cancer, and that great band Apache Stone from the hit Dennis Leary TV show 'Rescue Me' is headlining the show. This is a cause that is near to all of us and we are excited to be able to help. And we get to dust off all that knock out rock from our CDs like Time Bomb (which are still available at CD Baby). Hope to see you on Saturday 8/7/10 at Toads.

Winter 2010

Had an amazing tour with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.    Between the east and west coasts we played to over a million people this year.    Thanks for all the well wishes and good vibes.   I can't believe it's been 10 years.     It was a real highlight at the Tampa and New Jersey shows having Joe Walsh from the Eagles and the James Gang come out and do his classic songs "Life's Been Good" and "Rocky Mountain Way."   Boy, those lyrics in "Life's Been Good" are incredible and funny - 'I have mansion, forget the price, ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice, I live in hotels tear out the walls, I have accountants pay for it all'........... My Maserati does 185 mph too (but, my almost minivan starts shaking at about 65 :):)

This one is just a big shout out the guitar player who co-wrote and played on my little solo 'Steve Broderick' recording.    His name is Joel Hoekstra and I can't turn on my TV these days without seeing him as the standout from the new Broadway Smash musical "Rock of Ages."   Whether it's NBC in the morning or the Tony's there's Joel ripping it up.    On top of it, he recently joined Night Ranger and has been doing some great touring.   I told him, no matter how nervous you get, it can never compare to the nerves backstage at my junior high school talent show when we tried to do "Don't Tell Me You Love Me."    Joel is a super talented dude and he does the work, averages 6 hours a day shredding and on top of it is cool as ice and hysterically funny.    I love it when the good guys win.   Look him up on youtube, there are these great "lessons" that go along with a recent feature in guitar player magazine.
