With a distinctive low rumble in his voice, Steve Broderick picks up the torch of good old-fashined, bare-your-soul rock and roll. The New York-based Broderick has spent the last four years singing on the hugely successful Trans Siberian Orchestro (TSO) tour and cut his teeth playing opening gigs for such classics of rock as Bad Company and Lynryd Skynyrd. He'll be out on the road with TSO again this winter, so check out his website for all the skinny.

"Mix up the Allman Brothers, the Black Crowes, and Collective Soul, and you get a sound much better than most of the "rock" that's currently on the radio"

With his passionate vocals and emotional lyrics, Steve Broderick has accomplished much with his debut solo effort. Here, the touring member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and former lead singer of the 1990's rock band Mama Kettle shows he's learned much since that band opened up for Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

"Whether the song is a blasting rock number or a pensive ballad, it is Broderick's voice that holds it all together thematically."

Trans-Siberian Orchestra: The East Tour
One of my favorite songs of the evening was neither flashy nor loud. It's called "Old City Bar" and was performed by Steve Broderick accompanied by a single acoustic guitar. It showed their versatility (they can provide the sonic boom, but can also perform lovely quiet songs). At one point in this song, the guy held a note, um, forever (it was impressive), and the crowd shouted out random "woo!s" from different sections.

...Steve Broderick's scratchy intensity, a kind of vocal amalgam of Tom Waits and Axl Rose, met in the evening's deepest moment of truth

The Black Crowes-influenced first solo effort of this New York singer hits all the right notes. Soulful lyrics with emotional performances make this one standout. A balanced record of ballads and classic-influenced rock
